Friendly Faces Book Series

For this series I was asked to draw the faces of several animals and simple decorative patterns to accompany them.

It was important that all animals were easy to identify and looked cohesive. This was accomplished with the bright colour palette and the eyes of the animals that were always similar and in a similar position in the page. For the pattens in the background, although I kept them simple in order not to distract from the character, I chose to use elements that could easily be identified as part of the animal’s habitat.
